Nova Scotia Federation of Labour Bursary

The Nova Scotia Federation of Labour, CLC Bursary Application forms for 2021-2022 are now available.
There are five bursaries for which members can apply:
  • The Alex “Sugarcamp” MacDonald Memorial Bursary:  Awarded to a student attending university, trade school or community college.
  • The Glenda Cooper Memorial Bursary: Awarded to a student attending university, trade school or community college.
  • The J.K. Bell Memorial Bursary:  This bursary is only open to students who are attending community college or trade school.
  • The Joe Gannon Memorial Bursary:  Awarded to a student attending university.
  • The Leo F. McKay Memorial Bursary:  Awarded to a student attending university or community college or trade school.
Requirements:  Bursaries are valued at $1,000 each and are awarded to full-time students who will attend university or trade school/community college in 2021/2022 for the first time or as a returning student.  Applicants are required to submit a 500 word essay typed on “The Role of the Labour Movement in Today’s Society” with their bursary application.
Eligibility: children of active union members or the union member themselves.
Application deadline:  Friday, July 9, 2021.
